A new indoor kid´s park in the area of Skalnaté Pleso

The mountain resort of Tatranská Lomnica has opened a new indoor kid´s park in the area of Skalnaté Pleso. Spaces of the original upper cable car station, which hadn´t been used anymore, were changed to an interior entertaining playground for children with a maze, slides, containers with small balls and a relax zone for children. The project of the Chamois Land, where the stuffed symbol of the Tatras – the Tatra chamois is exhibited, offers an ideal alternative for parents who can have fun with children even in the changeable Tatra weather.

Those who can remember the upper station of the old 4-person cable car at Skalnaté Pleso will be really surprised. The spaces where tourists used to embark and disembark the cable car have gained a completely new entertaining-education dimension. In front of the entrance of the Chamois Land indoor park, there is a mini gallery of Tatra animals. In the corridor, there are information boards with pictures of animals such as brown bear, Tatra chamois, fox, eagle, boar, owl, wolf and marmot. The most precious object of the kid´s indoor park is a museum exhibit of a real Tatra chamois. With his help, the Museum of the State Forests of the Tatra National Park in Tatranská Lomnica is inviting visitors to discover the Tatra fauna and flora.

A children´s playground (10x8x3 metres) dominates the Chamois Land. It is opened every day from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is free of charge. Next to the playground, there is a relax zone with a café, which offers great views of the basin of Popradská kotlina. Small explorers have been discovering beauties of Tatra nature on educational tourist trails in the High Tatras and learning a lot about nature with a workbook of the Tatra Wilderness.
